Comfort & air

Relative humidity (RH)

The amount of moisture in air compared to the maximum it could hold at that temperature, expressed as a percentage. Comfortable indoor range is roughly 30 to 50%.

Why it matters for your home

St. Louis lives at both ends of this scale: muggy 70%+ summers that make 74° feel sticky, and furnace-dried sub-20% winters that crack woodwork and sinuses. Managing RH, through right-sized AC, longer gentle cooling cycles, and winter humidification, is half of what 'comfort' actually means here.
